You give me

an Easter egg

in a cheeky

spring flowered

cardboard box

incongruous this day

of late snow,

our wanderings

shake crystal

conifers.

Snowflakes

my tears

blanket fallow land.

You wrap me

in your comfort.

Your gift

ephemeral

as the snow

must yield

to the stir

of reborn snowdrops'

push through

moist darkness

craving light.
