You come dancing across the waters on silver wings of air

Looking for the New World where ancient dreams are shared.

I know you're living there with the desert in your eyes,

Far horizons on your mind,

The early morning fire rising into empty eastern skies,

The day-blind stars waiting for the light to arrive

Looking for the Sahara to be lost in

Looking for an oasis where you can feel alive.

I know you're living there

Alone, there

In the palace of the sun

A mirage, shimmering

Somewhere, where they don't care who you are.

Should I stay or should I go

Down to the valley below?

Colliding with the air that you breathe

On that sacred altar where we bleed

A sacrifice to be or not to be?

The sky is falling --

Do you know what that means?
