My heart a cocoon,
tightly wrapped,
covered from pain,
isolated for years.
Contents buried deep.
My spirit scathed,
soul left broken.
Simmering volcano
erupts from depths.
Memories spill.
Seep slowly first,
then gushing fury,
tears from sorrow.
Cocoon hatched,
my heart a butterfly.
My spirit soars.
Intoxicated, I feel love.
My soul free, I am reborn.
