I stand solely outside myself,

a stranger wrapped in my skin.

Aware of the inner difference,

I search for recognition.

Change seen through new eyes,

the outside mask familiar,

a raw sunrise fills the interior,

awaken feelings buried deep.

Recovery brings forth a rebirth,

a new-made self resides.

Life, a waterfall from my being.

Many a day I endured and survived,

but now,

I live.
