Paul Whiteside

Poet: Linda Marie Van Tassell
Poem: Stairway to Heaven
An excellent poem - full of great feeling. I've been interested in stairways to heaven since listening to Led Zeppelin's, Stairway to Heaven, and ancient philosophies about the Tree of Life. I thought the poem was so inspirational that I have copied your link to a friend of mine for her to gain inspiration from it too.

Poem: Majestica
Beautiful poem. I was doing a yahoo search and this page came up. My daughters name is Majestica. The only meaning I can find for her name is Princess. Which for her is fitting since she is 4 and all about the disney characters. If you know of any other meanings please let me know. I used to be very into writing short stories and some poetry in my younger days. More so creative writings. I will def. put this site on my favorites list. Thanks for sharing your heart with all of us. I am not so open with my work. More scared I think. Thanks again. JoAnna

Georgeann McGee

Poet: Michael Hillmer
Poem: Supernovas
The information in your biography was enlightening. So you are both from a steel town and a husband. I can see from reading your poetry that you must be a very honest person who must have suffered greatly the last thirty years. I wonder who this poem is meant to be for: wife, girlfriend, father?

My brother killed himself a few months ago and he was only 28 years old. Poet: Olutayo Kadmiel Osunasan
Poem: The Darkest Night
I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading your poetry. I felt your words to be powerful, with depth of meaning. One could visualize being present in, The Darkest Night and feeling pain, death and despair and praying for strength and renewed hope, say a miracle to appear. Dispare was felt, but hope hung on by faith.
I read all your poems in this offering and I found them to be a wonderful read and food for thought. Thank you.

Lobat Asadi

Poet: Amil Imani
Poem: Zarathustra
I wonder if any religion has proven itself to be of value in the debate of mixing church and state? Even if more balanced and peace loving, it seems that patriarchal religions focus more on the image of God as man, and impose "God's" laws on man. When we look at it objectively, God can only logicaly exist as an energy. We crave to put God in human form for our own comprehension and often times control of a people and nation(s).

Melissa Whelan

Poet: Tri Tran
Poem: My Art Work
I would like to start by saying wow, almost every line hit me in the same perspective it hits you. I love how you compare colors with moods and feelings. I focus on what I see behind the words, what I think was going on when you wrote it. I write myself nothing published, just notebooks of my own. I love reading other people's work, and I love feedback on my own so I can imagine you like it to. I throw the word love around alot as you notice, but that's simply because I truly love to write, in a way it's my biggest passion. I feel I write in varity yet I have still to wait upon my my glory. Which in itself will be when I find my true way of writing. I enjoy writing short stories, but mostly poems. In the end my writing is seen as a dark side of me that doesn't escape until I find a pen and paper. I also notice when I am alone and I write I feel like I couldn't need anyone else. In some way I think every writer should feel like that and I'm sure most do. That over fullfilling feel of emense pleasure when you write something amazing (even if you're the only one to think it) I wanted to comment specifically on the line ..
" I smear crimson upon my peaceful nights
As I blaze un fury;
My heart, unforgiving" ...That is breath taking.
Have you ever read something and thought it couldn't be anymore perfect in those words. Well that's what this line makes me think. It's beautiful. Anyways I won't take anymore of your time. Write back if you'd like. -Melissa

Dear Mary,
I am Head of Art at Cowplain Community School in Hampshire. Yours sincerely

Poem: Family Photograph
Hi Mary - One of my favorites! I have your two soft-bound poetry books, "Perfume of the Soil" and "The Road To Gowel" (Swan Press/Dublin) and must say I enjoy them very much. Especially nice is that you have included many charming photographs you have taken of Leitrim, Dublin, etc., and little snippets about growing up. My sister tells me this week that she and I just might take our first trip to Ireland in the next 1-2 years! Jean

Musing On Life
Observations
I try to visit as many web sites as I can and I enjoyed very much reading your poetry. I think you can learn a lot through the eyes of a poet. That is why I like going into cyberspace and visiting with other people. It gives you a better understanding of what they know, think, and feel. Thanks and best regards, Bill.
